Families Against Murders Escalating.
F.A.M.E was established in 2008 by Jackie Summerford after the brutal murder of
her daughter Bonnie Barrett.
Jackie wanted justice for her daughter.
She heard about others who had family and friends who were victims of the
justice system, people who have lost loved ones to murders.
Jackie decided something had to be done and F.A.M.E was born.
Families Against Murders Escalating stand for:
Will lobby for justice for families who have been victims of murders.
Work with other action groups to get longer sentences for violent criminals
Support the call of others, you take a life you serve life LIFE MUST MEAN LIFE
for murders in the uk
Support others who have been victims of violent murders and work within the
families the police force in the community the courts
Work with the community and beyound to change the current law for any murder
committed in the united kingdon.
To abolish the tariff for murders and paedophiles.
To abolish leniency for a guilty plea.
To ask for the judges to follow the guild lines with the maximum sentence is set
within the guide lines.
To abolish the Leave of Appeal from tax payer’s money. Once sentenced, when
there has been a guilty plea, and an abundance of evidence against them, if such
an appeal is wanted, then this should be paid for by the perpetrator.
To have a starting tariff of 30 years for Murder in the first degree.
For those killers who do not disclose where they have put the body then there
should be a further charge of β€œDenying the coroner’s right to do his
job”.
More support for the families and loved ones of the victims.
To introduce boot camp style barracks for early offenders. Tough supervision,
education and drug treatment and training should be taught as well as respect.
There should be a 3 month minimal sentence unless the offence is drug related
then 6 months treatment should be given.
When more than one person has taken part in a crime and the courts do not know
for sure was primarily reasonable for the act, then all should be sentenced for
withholding HM Queen’s evidence. Then maybe one defendant will change their
mind and talk.

Loner Derek Brown, 48, was told he must server a minimum of 30 years behind bars for the brutal murders of DVD seller Xiao Mei Guo and prostitute Bonnie Barrett in his London flat.

Their bodies have never been found.

The first victim Mrs Guo came to the UK from China illegally with her husband, Jin Hua Guo. They left their young sons at home to try and make a better life for the family.

Mr Guo said he has been unable to tell the sons, 11 and 12, what has happened to their mother.

"The children repeatedly ask me the question 'Where is mum? We haven't spoken to her for a long time? We miss her. Can we talk to her?'" he said.

"I have no courage to tell them that their mother was murdered and dismembered and will never be found. I don't want them to go through the same pain I am now suffering.

"We want her body so my children and I can say goodbye. This man has deprived me of that to conceal his own guilt.

"I have listened to the events that led to my wife's murder and tried to understand why this monster killed two innocent women."

Miss Barrett was addicted to crack cocaine, and her mother Jackie Summerford said she never had the chance to turn her life around.

"I am asking you, Derek Brown, to tell me where my daughter is so we can lay her to rest," she said.

Judge Martin Stephens told Brown: "What you did to each of those women before you killed them we can only speculate about. How you killed them we cannot know.

"What we do know is you disposed of their bodies with frightening efficiency so that not a trace of either woman has been found.

"The anguish of both victims' families is exacerbated, made much worse by their inability to lay each lady to rest."

It is thought that Brown, originally from Preston, Lancashire, might have disposed of Mrs Guo and Miss Barrett's bodies in the River Thames or by dumping them in hospital bins or an industrial compactor at his workplace.

Police think he was motivated by sex and a desire to become notorious like Jack the Ripper, who murdered prostitutes in the 19th century.

A man who wanted to become a serial killer was convicted yesterday of the murder
of two young women. Derek Brown, 47, is believed to be the first person in
living memory found guilty of two murders in the absence of bodies.

Brown, a delivery driver, borrowed a book, Killers: The Most Barbaric Murderers
of Our Time, from his local library and bought the components of a DIY murder
kit from B&Q before embarking on his killing spree. It included a heavy-duty bow
saw, a waterproof sheet, industrial-strength clingfilm, gloves and gaffer tape.

He told a former friend last summer: β€œI am going to be famous.” Then he
began to hunt for victims on the streets of Whitechapel, in the East End of
London. Detectives charged him with the murders of Xiao Mei Guo, 29, an illegal
immigrant DVD seller who was in Britain with her husband, and Bonnie Barrett,
24, a prostitute, even though, despite a big search, their bodies have not been
found. Brian Altman, QC, for the prosecution, told the Old Bailey: β€œBoth women
were street workers and both were soft targets for a predatory killer.”

Police believe the murders were the start of a killing spree that Brown had
promised his friend would bring him notoriety. The friend told police: β€œHe had
threatened me with making himself famous in an unpleasant way.”

The book he borrowed included information on killers including Peter Sutcliffe,
the β€œYorkshire Ripper”, who murdered 13 women between 1975 and 1980, and
Dennis Nilsen, who killed at least 15 men and boys in five years in North
London.

Police believe that Brown, a father of seven children by four women, may have
deliberately chosen Whitechapel so he could be compared to β€œJack the
Ripper”, who claimed five prostitute victims there in the autumn of 1888.

Detectives have linked Brown, who has a conviction for rape in 1989 in his home
town of Preston, and numerous convictions for dishonesty and burglary, to at
least six other serious sexual assaults and will be circulating his modus
operandi and his picture to all forces across the country.

Despite the absence of bodies to provide scientific evidence, what officers did
have was an abundance of blood from the two women in Brown’s flat in
Rotherhithe, southeast London. They found blood in every room of the flat,
despite his attempts to clean up.

When police entered the flat the walls had been stripped, the carpet taken up
and there was a bucket of water ready to be used. The concentration of blood
stains in the bathroom suggest he may have dismembered the bodies in the bath.

When he was arrested by officers he did not deny knowing Mrs Guo, but said that
he had sex with her regularly and was willing to chat. However, when forensic
science officers found her blood sprayed around his flat he refused to answer
any more questions.

Closed-circuit television footage shows the pair disappearing into Whitechapel
Tube station together, in East London, on the way to his flat, where he was
supposedly going to check the quality of her DVDs. It seems that Mrs Guo, who
has two children in China, may have tried to escape once in his home and was
murdered in his hall.

Further examination of the flat found the blood of Ms Barrett, a single mother
of a seven-year-old boy. It appears that she tried to escape his murderous
attack by wedging herself under the kitchen work surface and next to the washing
machine.

Brown is believed to have cut up the bodies and disposed of them in the bins at
the flat or in the Thames. He will be sentenced at a later date.

YOUNG MOTHERS' BLOOD FOUND AT MURDER ACCUSED'S HOME

John-Paul Ford Rojas and Shenai Raif, PA

Traces of blood from two missing young mothers were found at the home of a loner who allegedly lured them to his flat and killed them, a court heard today.

Derek Brown was said to have targeted the women, a prostitute and a DVD seller who lived on the fringes of society, thinking no one would look for them.

Weeks before they disappeared, the Old Bailey was told, he ominously told a friend: ``You will hear of me.''

Bonnie Barrett, 24, and Xiao Mei Guo, 29, went missing within half a mile of each other in the Whitechapel area of east London.

Brown is said to have killed them at his flat in Rotherhithe, south east London, before disposing of their bodies, which have never been found.

Brian Altman QC, prosecuting, said his flat was forensically searched.

``Traces of blood were found from which DNA profiles matching the DNA profiles of both these missing women were obtained,'' he told the court.

The delivery driver, a 47-year-old father-of-three originally from Preston, Lancashire, denies murder.

Mr Altman told jurors that a cleaner heard screaming coming from Brown's flat on August 29 last year, the day Ms Guo disappeared.

The married mother-of-two, an illegal immigrant from China, was last seen selling DVDs in Whitechapel market and CCTV pictures showed her with Brown by Whitechapel Tube station, the court heard.

Miss Barrett, a prostitute and crack addict who had a six-year-old son, disappeared from the same area on September 18.

On June 25, Brown had seen a female friend and as he left her warned that the press would be ``hounding'' her, and she asked what he meant by it.

``He replied ominously 'You will hear of me','' Mr Altman said.

Mr Altman said Xiao Mei told a friend she was outside Whitechapel tube station.

But a few minutes later, she told another friend who phoned her that she had travelled three stops on the tube because ``a customer wanted her to go to his house to try some DVDs''.

Her mobile phone had registered in Rotherhithe and a travel card registered at the station which was near Brown's home, the jury heard.

``She was unsure if the customer wanted DVDs or not,'' said Mr Altman.

A couple of days later, Brown had given some DVDs to his children and other DVDs were later found at his flat, it was alleged.

A neighbour and his guest later told police they heard a woman's screams coming from the flat during that period.

``The woman was clearly distressed,'' said Mr Altman. The neighbour's friend said he had gone to the window and heard screaming and the sound of a woman whimpering.

The men had gone to investigate but returned when the noises stopped.

Mr Altman said blood spots and smears were found on the walls and ceiling of the bedroom and there appeared to have been attempts to clean them off.

Blood traces, some still visible, were also found in the bathroom, in the living room on the wall behind the sofa, and all of the doors within the flat.

An expert who analysed the patterns of Ms Guo's blood said it showed she had been subjected to an attack inside the flat ``sustaining an impact or impacts where she was bleeding''.

No blood was found outside Brown's home at Flat 22, Laburnum Court, Albion Street, Mr Altman said.

``Whatever happened inside that flat was contained within it,'' he said.

Police also discovered three B&Q receipts in the address, one dated August 31, two days after after Ms Guo's disappearance, another from September 26, shortly after Miss Barrett vanished and a third on October 2, two days before his arrest.

They indicated a total of Β£155 had been spent on items such as paint, heavy duty gloves and cleaning materials, gaffer and masking tape, a bow saw, a Stanley knife and filler knife, rubble sacks, a heat gun and a screwdriver.

Police discovered some of these, as well as face masks, a roll of bin liners, and disposable overalls.

The cleaner who heard a woman screaming on the day of Ms Guo's disappearance had been mopping on the top floor of the building, the jury was told.

``It sounded as if someone was hurting this woman and the sound continued for two to three minutes,'' Mr Altman said.

He spoke to another cleaner and they decided to report it to the building supervisor but he said he ``didn't get involved in such things'' and left it.

The screaming had stopped by the time they went back to work, the court heard.

``There is no question that it was Flat 22, the defendant's flat, from where this screaming came,'' Mr Altman said.

Brown was arrested when police found him in a Londis shop near Rotherhithe Tube station while making inquiries about Ms Guo's disappearance, and believed he matched the appearance of the man seen with her at Whitechapel.

He admitted he would go to the area to ``bring back girls and sleep with them'' and also said he would buy DVDs there, the court heard.

Brown agreed he was the man seen on CCTV with Ms Guo on August 29.

After being arrested, he was shown a picture of her and said he did not recognise her and that all Chinese DVD sellers looked the same to him. He said she had never been in his flat.

He made no further comment after being told that DNA matching her profile had been found at his flat.

Meanwhile, an unidentified blood sample also found at the property was matched against the national DNA database and found to be that of Bonnie Barrett.

Fellow sex workers said Miss Barrett and other girls she knew had previously gone back to Brown's flat for sex, the jury heard.

Mr Altman said: ``He had a large sexual appetite and he preferred white, slim, small-breasted women, a description certainly fitting Bonnie Barrett. Both Bonnie and Xiao Mei were women of slight stature.''

Another man who knew Miss Barrett recalled seeing her once ``waving her arms around and gesturing at a man to leave her alone'', who prosecutors say was Brown.

``She complained that the man was pestering her and wanted her to go back to his flat and he would pay later,'' Mr Altman said.

Miss Barrett was last heard from when she phoned a friend at 12.42pm on September 18. Since then she had not contacted her son or other relatives and her passport, birth certificate and post office account book were left at her home.

CCTV and mobile phone evidence showed Brown to have been in the Whitechapel area the same afternoon she vanished, the court was told.

The trial was adjourned until Monday.

Our hearts still ache with sadness ,
Our silent tears still flow,
What it meant lose you Xiao
No one will ever know
xxxxx

Mum did you think of me today?
Mum did you cry?
Mum I know that it is hard for you
And can't understand why
Mum please don't be angry with god
It was time for me to leave
I know that they are questions
And answers you can't believe
But know Mum I'm okay
And never left your side
Do you hear the things I say?
Can you find the things I hide?
The only thing I cannot take away
Is the pain your heart feels
So I asked the lord for one wish
To help your heart to heal
He told me to think carefully
About what I could say or do
To show how much you mean to me
To show how much I miss you too
I thought of all the little things
That used to make us laugh
And I thought of all the prayers you have
Just to have me back
I knew just what my wish would be
It was there in front of me
A beautiful dove God gave to me
To show me of his love
I whispered to the dove
I told him how to find you
I place him on a rainbow
So mum when you think of me
And cannot bear the pain
Look for the gift I sent to you
And allow my memory to remain
I am every laugh you have
In every hug you share
I am the one who know your soul
And want you Mum to let go
Take with you all the memories
Of the life you made
And remember I never meant to cause
You so much pain
So when you need to feel my touch
Or to know that I'm still there
Find the gift I sent from above
And see it in all my love
When you see the feather on the ground
Know that I'm still around

There is a special Angel in heaven
That is part of me
Its not where I wanted her
But where God wanted her
She was here but just a moment
Like a night time shooting star
And although she is in heaven
She isnt very far
She touched the hearts of many
Like only an Angel can do
So I send this special message
To the heaven above
Please take care of my Angel
And send her all my love.
XXXXXXXXX
If There Are Roses In Heaven
Will You Send One Just For Me
So I Can Hold It Close To My Heart
Where You Will Always Be

I Will Lay It On My Pillow Each Night
As The Angels Tuck Me In
I Will Know That You Are Near Me
And Feel Your Presence Once Again

I Am Thankful For All The Years
You Were There To Help Me Through
I Will Always Remember β€œMy Precious Daughter”
Whose Love Was Honest And True!

Death is nothing at all… I have only slipped away to the next room… I am I and you are you… Whatever we were to each, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, Speak it to me in the same way you always used. Put no difference into your tone, Wear no false air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect, without the ghost of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolutely unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident. I am but waiting for you for an interval Somewhere very near Just around the corner. All is well. - – - written by Henry Scott Holland

I wake up in the morning
And I look up to the sky
I wonder why he took you
before I said good-bye

I look up to the stars at night
And know you're looking down
I'd like to think you're proud of me
But I'm just stumbling round

I crawl in bed and close my eyes
And realize that you're gone
Then comes the fears and then the tears
And life just seems so wrong

I glance up at the heavens
And I know you're flying by
My Angels watching over me
I'm happy as I cry

Oh my Angel i do miss you and i know

I'm in this special garden
where I dwell with god above
He watches over all of us
and gives us all his love.

And in gods special garden
all our dear friends will be
sat amongst the flowers
discussing you and me.

Baby Angels ,wings so bright
fluttering in the soft sunlight
looking down and wondering why
all below are sad,and cry

Remember us with joy they say
we'll be together again one day
and in gods garden we we will share
all his love and tender care.

Then once again you'll smile with me
as all together we will be
So do not weep or cry in pain
Im sending you sunshine, not the rain

The gentle breeze, its only me
sitting quietly by your knee
A soft caress
A whisper low
telling you that I love you so

So do not worry while I'm away
we'll be together again one day.
